Fireworks & the 4th of July

Happy 4th of July!
We are lucky. We can watch the 4th of July fireworks from the comfort of our family room. The mall next to our development always puts on a big 4th of July fireworks show the day before on the 3rd of July. Yep no loading up the car, packing a cooler or getting there several hours early needed. And no fighting for a parking spot or sitting in traffic. The only downside.... don't plan on leaving the development between 6pm and 11pm as the traffic is crazy. But it's a small price to pay for ring side seats to the fireworks.

So we celebrate the 4th of July twice once on the 3rd and then again on the 4 of July. This year on the the 3rd the kids hung out inside playing until we heard the festivities start and then we brought some chairs out side and watched from the road. We do miss some of the low ones, but we get to see the majority of the show. And that's just fine by me.

For the fourth we went to a friend's bar-b-que early in the day and while the grown-ups hung out and chatted about this and that the kids all swam in the pool. Everyone stuffed themselves, hotdogs, cookies, cupcakes, fruit and veggies. You name it, we had it. And let me tell you I ate way to much. Good thing we own a gym (wink). I'm going to need to it to burn off some of the damage I did.

Sorry no pics to share. Yup that's right I didn't take one single picture the entire fourth of July weekend. Maybe I'll stage a few pictures later tonight. I mean after all it's still technically the 4th of July weekend. Gotta love three day weekends!
